About Heat Pump

Heat Pumps
Modern Electric heat pumps offer an effective technical opportunity for saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions. With their reduced energy demand through improved thermal protection electric heat pumps represent an financially prudent alternative. Thermal energy from the environment solar energy stored in the earth, in water and air is available in unlimited form. Heat pumps offer the opportunity to heat in energy efficient and environmentally friendly ways by utilising energy from the environment

Ground
The ground has the ability to store solar energy over long periods of time, offering the heat source relatively even temperature over the entire year, which provides heat pump operation with a high performance factor (efficiency). The temperature in the top layer of the ground varies with each season. Below the frost line, these fluctuations are noticeably less pronounced. During the Autumn/Winter months a regular temperature of between +5 to +8oC can be recorded with this increasing to between +12 to +15oC during the Spring/Summer months. The energy-stored underground extracted via horizontally buries ground heat exchangers, which are also referred to as ground collectors, or via vertical heat exchangers, so called ground probes. The heat from the environment is transported in a mixture of water and anti freeze.

Water
Water is a good source of solar energy. Even on a cold day, groundwater holds a constant temperature from +7 to + 12oC, which is its real benefit. Due to the constant temperature level of the heat source, the performance factor of this heat pump is high all year round.

Drilling for Energy
The heat is collected from the bedrock and the groundwater through a borehole 4.5 to 6.5 inches in diameter. The depth of the borehole is determined by the amount of energy needed for heating. If the energy demand is great, several boreholes can be connected together.

Air
Heat gained from ambient air can be utilised easily and is available everywhere in unlimited measure. This is alternative option where garden space is at a premium
